Collaborative Grant with PSU Department of Neurosurgery Awarded

Medical Research

Penn State University College of Medicine, Department of Neurosurgery and Targepeutics are pleased to announce that they have been awarded a W.W. Smith Charitable Trust Medical grant.  This grant will advance the development of a novel targeted cancer therapy, named GB13, for the treatment of glioblastoma (GBM).  The Principal Investigator, Alireza Mansouri, MD, Penn State College of Medicine, Department of Neurosurgery “this grant funding will directly support experiments to understand mechanisms of IL13Ra2 regulation and to validate liquid biopsy-based detection as a biomarker for GB13 treatment response”.

The Co-Investigator, Randy Schrecengost, PhD, Targepeutics, agrees and believes that “understanding how therapies can perturb target expression and improving non-invasive approaches to monitor therapeutic efficacy will add consider value to treatment of GBM with GB13”.
